Our Teaching Staff
We are so proud of our teaching staff. They are dedicated professionals who are committed to the education of young children. And, most importantly, they are warm, loving and nurturing and have the ability to be playful. These four ingredients are most important in building successful relationships with the children in their care.
Our teachers understand that the early attitudes children develop about school will follow them through their academic years. To foster a positive and enjoyable feeling about school and learning, our teachers provide a setting whereby children have fun all the while gaining the skills necessary for long-term educational success. In addition to supporting children’s academic success, teachers also work to ensure a child’s self-confidence and continued sense of curiosity and creativity.
Hello! My name is Briana and I am the Assistant Director here at Heritage Learning Academy. I have a degree in child development. Before I came here, I taught preschool for 8 years. I love watching the kids as they discover new things, or finally figure out how to do something that they have been practicing. I love that no matter what kind of day you are having the children can always make you laugh. I am deeply committed to the care and education of children. I cannot imagine doing anything else.
Hi my name is Nicole and I have been a part of Heritage Learning Academy family since 2013, but started out as a parent for the first 5 years and now get the amazing opportunity to work alongside those that helped my children grow for those first five years. I have 3 children that I am blessed to watch grow up in Heritage Learning Academy and tell me they love their school and teachers each day. I became a part of the staff in August of 2018 and love working with the Preschool and PreK teachers to come up with curriculum that encompasses STEM and Project Based Learning principles. I attended University of Nevada, Reno and while at college was a preschool teacher for infants through toddlers. In the little free time that I have I love to run, read and make crafts (on my own and with the kids). I am excited to watch your children grow and learn as much as I enjoy watching what my own have accomplished at Heritage.

I am currently enrolled in a Child Development Associate program and have been working in childcare since 2016. I love working with children because no day is the same! I love seeing a child figure something out on their own with the light in their eyes and pride on their face. My goal is to make learning as exciting as possible by creating plenty of hands on opportunities! I look forward to getting to know your family!
Hello, my name is Angela Kenyon and I am a teacher in the Infant A room. I was born in Minnesota and moved to Texas in 1976. I have six amazing children ranging in ages from 24-28. I was a stay at home Mom and worked from home until my youngest entered Kindergarten. I worked many years as an Administrative Assistant and decided to work at Heritage Learning Academy, enjoying my true passion – loving and nurturing all the babies that are entrusted to my care. I want every parent to take comfort in knowing that when their child is left in my care, I will shower them with love, attention and nurturing as if they were my own child.
Hello! My name is Courtney Hicks. I have been a teacher at Heritage Learning Academy since September 2010. I graduated from The Colony High School in 2009. I really enjoy watching children learn and grow. Even though they are only three years old, each of my children loves learning new things every day. They are often eager and excited and it is wonderful to watch. Coming to work and seeing the children’s smiling faces and eagerness to learn inspires me to be the best teacher I can. I couldn’t ask for a more rewarding job!

Hello! My name is Du Ra Lee. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in education from Dongguk University and worked in the educational field for 5 years in Korea. I moved USA in 2003. My husband and I have two children, Jason and Jamie. After coming to America, I worked as a bilingual teacher in a preschool. During that time, I attended Collin College where I focused on the Montessori learning philosophy for young learning. I truly believe a good educational environment is the most fundamental element for the children’s future. I believe children should be respected for the unique persons they are and that my support as their teacher will connect them to a self-initiated, life-long love of learning. I really enjoy helping the children learn and grow and I am so happy to be part of Heritage Learning Academy and be a part in this valuable journey.
Hello! My name is Elisa. I was born in Korea, grew up in Argentina and lived in the US since my college years. I started in Heritage as a parent of two boys, one in Preschool and another in Toddlers and I liked Heritage so much that ended up working as a teacher. Before working at Heritage, I have worked with Adolescent age groups for many years and I have also worked with street children in Mexico for several years. I love children of all ages but I especially love to work with infants and toddlers. They are just too cute and cuddly. Each baby and toddler is very special and unique and I love each one as he/she is and I want to care for them meeting their individual needs. I am thankful for each parent's trust in us and I want to be a teacher worthy of your trust. I have a MA in counseling and I would like to study more on children psychology and pursue licensure becoming a professional counselor someday.

Working with Toddlers, there is never a dull moment. I enjoy watching the "light bulb" moment when a child learns something new and the look on their faces and how excited they are. I look forward to seeing these young children grow and develop their own personalities.
